The Zone source for Optical Character Recognition (OCR), is useful for scanned documents or graphics containing text. Select the zone and choose OCR from the Zone Type dropdown list in the Zone Tab (Arrow 1), and press the Convert to Text button. The OCR function will convert the selection to text when text is detectable (Arrow 2). Result may vary depending on quality of the image, the font, size, clarity, orientation, etc. The user can make edits within the OCR text box once the OCR has finished processing. Common examples of required edits are spelling mistakes, or “rn” being recognized as “m,” or “o” recognized as “0.”
